Certificate I
The Certificate I is designed to provide learners with the knowledge to gain entry level employment in the Resources and Infrastructure industries. The off-the-job component of the program is targeted at on-site induction, VET in Schools programs and pre-employment programs.
It reflects the knowledge and awareness of entry level employees in operations within the Resources and Infrastructure industry sectors, it is only one component of competency based training and assessment and must be delivered in conjunction with a practical component: SkillsDMC expects training to include a 2 week work placement, during which participants will be trained and assessed on-the-job.
Certificate II
This program has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge to gain entry level employment in the mining, drilling, civil construction and quarrying industries.
It reflects the knowledge and awareness of these employees in work preparation, and is targeted at both mature age and young people as pre-employment and VET in-school programs.
However, it is only one element of competency based training and assessment and must be delivered in conjunction with a practical component. That’s why SkillsDMC recommends a 2 week work placement, during which participants will be trained and assessed on the job.
